ABOUT
Te Ngutu Golf Club, 'the best kept secret in golf' and "the jewel in the west" are but two of the many compliments extended to the Te Ngutu Golf Club and its course by visitors from all around New Zealand.
With the foresight of a group of local residents in 1932, the foundation for the Te Ngutu Golf Club was formed and within 2 months boasted an initial closed membership of 60 keen golfers.
The course was developed over the years on its present site and with the purchase of some additional neighbouring land, as well as developing new greens and tees, the course was established in its current 18 hole layout being;
- Men’s White Tees, par 71 and 5428 metres in length
- Men’s Blue Tees, par 71 and 5558 metres long
- Women have a Par of 72, 4937 metres in length.
- Full 18 Hole Short Course, par 71, measuring 3147 metres in length.
Although a relatively short course Te Ngutu has many challenges for both beginners and experts alike, with its greens ranking amongst the best in New Zealand. With groomed fairways and strategically placed trees and bunkers, golfers are assured of not only a challenge but also a very pleasant outing on a picturesque part of the South Taranaki rural scene.
